A More Perfect Union Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at 9:00 a.m.
To all members of the 91´óÉñèÏÈÉúǧÈËÕ¶ campus --
Congratulations on a successful first half of the fall semester. As we approach the final month of our fall term, let’s stay vigilant and focused on our shared responsibility to maintain a safe learning environment here on campus. Keep wearing your masks, practicing social distancing and avoiding large gatherings. It’s working, and our campus thanks you.
This week let’s also remember our shared responsibility as Americans. Our country was founded by visionaries who painstakingly designed our democracy to protect freedom, establish justice, and secure prosperity for all citizens of these United States. To realize that vision as the founding fathers intended it, We the People must participate in this democracy by voting.
Choosing our nation’s leaders is not just our right, it is our responsibility. And it is a privilege denied to billions of people on earth. Let us not take our liberty for granted by neglecting our duty.
From now through Election Day on Nov. 3, I’m urging all eligible students, faculty and staff to vote in the 2020 election. Whether you choose to vote early, mail in your ballot, or vote in your local precinct on Nov. 3, our University is committed to ensuring you have the time and flexibility needed to cast your ballot.
For more information on the various ways and locations to vote, please visit the , or that of the elections supervisor in the state where you are registered.
Your fellow citizen,
Tim Cost ’81, President
